It warmed my heart when I first heard of the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach Program and Walkathon. I instantly knew it was something I would like to support. To offer people support and hope when they most need it is so important and something I can relate to. I grew up in the system as a child and teenager, but I was so lucky to attend a Steiner School and had the most caring Class Teacher, I refer to her as “My Angel On My Journey “, her name was Birthe and if it wasn’t for her love, caring and guidance I’m not sure where I would be today. She showed me I had a choice in choosing my path in life and with her support I chose a life that’s been good and kind, not a choice all children in the system get a chance to experience. I often think about them. I believe with the right support, love and guidance many people in prison are waiting for a helping hand, an angel that will believe in them just like I had when I was young. I like to pass Birthe’s kindness forward by participating in this walkathon. I will be walking over the weekend in Ann Arbor, MI and my goal is 6 miles.
Thank you for taking the time to read through and know that I appreciate any help you may be able to give, may it be $1 dollar or $1000.
With love and warmth, Mona
