When I first heard that the Anthroposophical Society was helping people in prison who were searching for personal enlightenment, I knew I had to support them.  If there are people in prison who are striving for higher development, it becomes my duty as a human being to support them on their path of enlightenment in the darkness.  If there are 100 people in prison looking to better themselves through the study of Spiritual Science and meditation/reflection, then I am happy to help them get books to read and lessons to study.  When a person gets out of prison, I would much rather they come out filled with inner light and a sense of responsibility for self than any other option.

I will be running 16 miles and walking 6 over the weekend of September 22-24, in support of the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach.

Please help me in helping people find the light in the darkness.

ABOUT APO Walkathon 2017

Walk a Mile in My Shoes -- the 5th Annual Anthroposophical Prison Outreach Walkathon (this year cyclists are joining in too!)

September 22-24, 2017

Unlike most walk-a-thons, this event doesn’t have a set course or distance. Participants choose their route wherever they like, for however many miles they choose. Volunteers can walk alone for a couple hours a day, or gather a group of friends and family and make a day of it.

This year we intend to raise $25,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners across the country whose lives it touches, with inspiration, encouragement and support.

Please help us reach our goal!

We on the "outside" enjoy the wonderful gift of freedom of movement. The prisoners who participate in APO do not share this freedom. They do, however, share the freedom of movement in their life of soul. Let us accompany and support them on their inner journey by thinking of them as we walk out in the world on their behalf.

APO works to give self-rehabilitation services and hope to incarcerated individuals. We encourage inmates to take responsibility for their lives through teaching exercises, meditative techniques, self help books of a spiritual nature, mentorship and correspondence courses.

Thanks for sponsoring a walker, and helping the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach program to continue its important work of serving prisoners around the country.

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach is a program of the Anthroposophical Society in America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law.
