I can listen to birds singing while I walk through an ever changing natural scene, feel the breezes and sunshine and buzz of insects while my little dogs chase squirrels and hope for rabbits. I can go for a paddle on Lake Superior, sit in a quiet forest or bike ride in the rain. The prisoners who participate in Anthroposophical Prison Outreach do not share this freedom but we do share the freedom of movement in our soul life. The idea that I can help APO's objectives to support prisoners on their inner journey with study materials, books and conversation fills me with joy.  I imagine their vista opening up as mine has and my response is Yes! Please sponsor my 5 km walk and 20 km bike ride, this year in Hamburg MI.

ABOUT APO Walkathon 2017

Walk a Mile in My Shoes -- the 5th Annual Anthroposophical Prison Outreach Walkathon (this year cyclists are joining in too!)

September 22-24, 2017

Unlike most walk-a-thons, this event doesn’t have a set course or distance. Participants choose their route wherever they like, for however many miles they choose. Volunteers can walk alone for a couple hours a day, or gather a group of friends and family and make a day of it.

This year we intend to raise $25,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners across the country whose lives it touches, with inspiration, encouragement and support.

Please help us reach our goal!

We on the "outside" enjoy the wonderful gift of freedom of movement. The prisoners who participate in APO do not share this freedom. They do, however, share the freedom of movement in their life of soul. Let us accompany and support them on their inner journey by thinking of them as we walk out in the world on their behalf.

APO works to give self-rehabilitation services and hope to incarcerated individuals. We encourage inmates to take responsibility for their lives through teaching exercises, meditative techniques, self help books of a spiritual nature, mentorship and correspondence courses.

Thanks for sponsoring a walker, and helping the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach program to continue its important work of serving prisoners around the country.

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach is a program of the Anthroposophical Society in America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law.
