The Steering Committee, the shepherding group for Natural Science Section activities, has been working on strategic planning and has written a Case for Support for our immediate activities and Long Range Planning. Longer-term goals will be spelled out in upcoming issues of our newly inaugurated newsletter, the Correspondence.
Our immediate urgent need is for two key upcoming activities for the remaining part of 2018.
We are looking for $1800 to fund attendance of at least three Section members from America at the Goetheanum Section’s international conference, Evolving Science 2018, this October in Dornach, Switzerland. This is vital for building collaboration with and reporting back to the Society on the more established work in Goethean/Anthroposophical science in Europe.
For our own Section’s Bridging Natural Science and Spiritual Science conference in November in Spring Valley, NY, we have already received $1200 in pledges, but are also still looking for $2600 for expenses greater than covered by registration fees. This includes providing a video live-stream (and archive) of Dr. Heusser’s public lectures on Science and Anthroposophy. See our website: www.naturalsciencesection.org
With this conference and the inauguration of the Correspondence, we are stepping up our presence in the Society in accord with our mission to bring a discerning and unique perspective on developments in science and technology into today’s culture.
(In the comment section of the donation form, you may indicate "ES2018" to support the Dornach conference, "BRIDGING" for the Spring Valley conference, or leave it blank and your gift will go where it's needed most.)
