Hello Friends near and far,

It is with great warmth that I am writing to you,

I feel called to offer my walking abilities to the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach (APO) for many reasons.

Every time I read the (APO) newsletter I am moved by the depth, honesty and striving shared by the individuals that are effected by the work of the APO program.  I feel a deep connection to this work, what it shares with these individuals, and also to all of humanity in its collective striving.  I feel we all have to meet this in ourselves, the need to overcome, and to transform out of our own choice and freedom.  

My offering is one of overcoming: a two mile walk will be the longest I have walked alone in almost 2 years.  It has been a personal goal of mine this year to walk to my neighborhood playground and back entirely by myself.  After undergoing a transformative journey in healing where my physical strength and mobility have changed, I have slowly regained my ability and confidence to walk.  Recently, I have been challenging myself to go for further distances without a guide. Currently, I am able to go for a 10 block walk with my family. For me, this walk will be about meeting my own fear around not being able to walk alone.  I will walk on behalf of all of us who are having to meet fear and untruths -- whatever they may be -- and I offer my walk as a symbol of courage to all of those individuals that are seeking into the unknown.

Where will this walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a nationwide event with no set course. Walkers and cyclists can participate wherever they want, with whomever they want.  

Thanks for helping Anthroposophical Prison Outreach to continue its important work in serving prisoners around the country. 

This year we intend to raise $40,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners around the country whose lives we touch, with inspiration and support on their inner spiritual journey.

APO brings the opportunity for self-rehabilitation and hope to incarcerated individuals. We encourage inmates to take responsibility for their lives through teaching exercises, meditative techniques, books of a spiritual nature, mentorship, and correspondence courses.
