For years I have soaked in the beauty and wisdom of the art, poetry, meditations and sharing of the prisoners who contribute to the bi-annual APO Newsletter. Every year I donate a little bit of money with my annual anthroposophical society dues. Then I saw a beautiful film about Rubin Hurricane Carter, wrongly imprisoned for murder. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0174856/ It is an extraordinary film telling of prison life. I remember at Steiner College Jurgen Schriefer the musicologist would speak of his volunteering for the APO. Most of all, there are the words of the Christ in the Gospel of Matthew: "I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ And, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”.

Recovering from Covid as I am right now, I thought, I have to cancel. Then I realized, I am free, I can go outside anytime I want to walk, as little or as long as I want, covid or not. For all those imprisoned who cannot walk outdoors in freedom, here I walk in freedom for the work of the Anthoposophical Prison Outreach program so that all those imprisoned who wish to do so may be free to take up spiritual study.

Please sponsor me by supporting the APO as much as you are able. I will be walking up and down Cherry Creek Trail. Thank you, Cristina Drews in Denver, Colorado

ABOUT 2022 APO Walkathon

APO provides men and women who are in prison with meditation and self-development study material and newsletters, bringing change into their lives. Your donation makes a big difference in the world. Thank you!!!

Where will this walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a nationwide event with no set course. Walkers and cyclists can participate wherever they want, with whomever they want.

Thanks for helping Anthroposophical Prison Outreach to continue its important work in serving prisoners around the country.

This year we intend to raise $40,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners around the country whose lives we touch, with inspiration and support on their inner spiritual journey.

Your support makes a difference!

APO brings the opportunity for self-rehabilitation and hope to incarcerated individuals. We encourage inmates to take responsibility for their lives through teaching exercises, meditative techniques, books of a spiritual nature, mentorship, and correspondence courses.

Thank you for your help!

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach is a program of the Anthroposophical Society in America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law.

Ellen S. Friedlander 09/18/2022 $150.00 I love this, Cristina. I'm so grateful for the ability and freedom to walk. My heart goes out to all those who cannot for whatever reason. I donate in my father's memory as he was a beautiful human being, a believer in equanimity and fairness and would be glad to know he was somehow connected to such a cause. PS I saw Ruben Hurricane Carter when he was in Denver maybe 20 years ago. Such a lovely man. How many are charged for crimes not committed? Thank you for doing this.
