How blessed we are! If we are happy, healthy and free to live our lives, we are blessed. And all of us--all!--face times when life leaves us hurting, lonely, or feeling trapped by circumstance. We feel joy in the good. Can we accept our part in our struggles? And can we imagine that we all take on struggles that are not of our making, that humanity as a whole move through communal difficulties? We live in a world that looks to blame others for all ills, in judgments that only deepen separation and alienation. If we are honest we know--we cannot, we dare not judge. How much more is achieved by one person reaching out and helping another in need than by a thousand dwelling on the sins of others, past and present! Those behind bars face the same struggles:  either to blame the world for their lot or to accept it and work toward inner growth and understanding. APO has helped thousands of prisoners toward that change of heart and mind found in treading the pathways of the spirit, the spirit that opens our heart to the knowledge:  every human being is my brother or sister!

ABOUT 2023 APO Walkathon

This Year’s Walk-a-thon is September 22 – 24, 2023
We hope you will join in to walk, run, or cycle!

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach inspires inner change in men and women who are in prison. Our lending library, meditation instruction, correspondence course and twice yearly newsletters support students in their self-development. And, as you know, when one person changes, it radiates to those around them. Your donation makes a big difference in the world. Click the button above to donate or join in as a walker. Another option is to sponsor a specific walker, just scroll down to see our participants! Thank you for your support!

Where will this walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a nationwide event with no set course or distance. Walkers and cyclists can participate wherever they want throughout the weekend.

Our goal this year is to raise $40,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners around the country whose lives we touch. Your support makes a difference. Thank you!

“APO has helped me to control myself and be more reflective. I am more positive, I don’t hate like I used to. I present myself to others better with more confidence. I try to use patience, understanding and thought instead of violence or shutting out. I am not as bitter as I was and it dissipates more every day. Now I’m filled with more understanding and feel more optimistic.” Michael, Greenville, IL

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach is a program of the Anthroposophical Society in America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law.
