Dear Friends,

I almost didn't make the walk this year. I had a long list of excuses but in the background I could never say I wasn't going to participate.  I am so grateful to Kathy Serafin and her team who organize this event.  Without her/their gentle prodding, coaxing, believing that I could participate I would have let something very important to me slip. Yesterday I received a packet in the mail, sent "just in case..."  Reading about the good work that has come from the availability of these materials to incarcerated individuals, I felt my own forces were growing.  "Just start walking" was what I needed to do.

Planning to cover 25 miles over the weekend, I walked through my town, with the evidence of season's changing all around me. The autmn's sleep awakens a renewed impetus to work with the soil of my soul.  Helping others, who are less priviledged than me do the same, is my heart's aim.

If you are so moved, please join me in support of the Anthroposophical Prison Outreach program in whatever way is right for you!

Thank you for your consideration!

Kathy

As of 8:00p Sunday evening, I was able to complete the 25 miles.  I'm so grateful for your generous support!

ABOUT 2023 APO Walkathon

This Year’s Walk-a-thon is September 22 – 24, 2023
We hope you will join in to walk, run, or cycle!

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach inspires inner change in men and women who are in prison. Our lending library, meditation instruction, correspondence course and twice yearly newsletters support students in their self-development. And, as you know, when one person changes, it radiates to those around them. Your donation makes a big difference in the world. Click the button above to donate or join in as a walker. Another option is to sponsor a specific walker, just scroll down to see our participants! Thank you for your support!

Where will this walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a nationwide event with no set course or distance. Walkers and cyclists can participate wherever they want throughout the weekend.

Our goal this year is to raise $40,000 in support of the work of the APO and the hundreds of prisoners around the country whose lives we touch. Your support makes a difference. Thank you!

“APO has helped me to control myself and be more reflective. I am more positive, I don’t hate like I used to. I present myself to others better with more confidence. I try to use patience, understanding and thought instead of violence or shutting out. I am not as bitter as I was and it dissipates more every day. Now I’m filled with more understanding and feel more optimistic.” Michael, Greenville, IL

Anthroposophical Prison Outreach is a program of the Anthroposophical Society in America, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law.
