Hello Friends,
I plan to put in some miles this weekend with my husband, Woody Fitzgerarld. My goal is 25 miles.
Prison Outreach is a fantastic organization that gives spiritual resources and support to prisoners across the country. So many are touched, inspired, strengthened and changed by this work. I am inspired when I read the newsletter, filled with testimonials, insights, poetry and artwork from incarcerated individuals.
I hope you will support me in my walk and Prison Outreach in its good work.
Sunday update:
Friday we logged 11 miles and climbed Mt. Baily, and yesterday we climbed Cowhorn and logged 9.7 miles. I plan to walk the final 4.3 today.
Monday update:
I'm happy to share that I met the 25 mile goal yesterday with a walk to downtown Corvallis for dinner, and bumped it over when walking out to close up the hens. I'm still mighty sore from the climbs, but it's starting to fade to the 'hurt so good' stage from the 'hobble hobble' stage accompanied by many verbal exclamations (especially attempting to descend the stairs).

Where will this Walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a international event with no set course or distance. Walkers, runners, and cyclists can participate whereever they happen to be throughout the weekend. Each volunteer gathers in sponsors and in this way a broad group of individuals sustains APO. Our goal this year is to raise $35,000. This will support over 1,200 people across the US - individuals who are serving time in prison and have taken up a path of inner development through the work of the APO. Thank you for your support, it makes a real difference! Self-control and awareness has taken the place of negativity. It helps the situation so I don't make impulse base decisions that have no substance. Others tell me I'm different and more humble.
