I'm returning to walk again this year in support of the APO and all it's good work. I ask you to join me in supporting an effort to help those incarcerated human beings who are looking to use their time toward self evolving and growth. So very many people are challenged each day in surviving a day in prison, most of their freedom has been taken away or severly curtailed. What can still be left to them is to chose is what to think about, how to react to, and find where there is freedom, namely within. The support the APO study materials offer is so helpful! The newsletter that the APO sends to the incarcerated students is full of testimonies of other prisoner's experiences. You can read this too! Ultimately, when released, there has been a chance for inner growth and transformation.
This year I will be walking in downtown Portland. In the past I have walked 25 miles during the course of the weekend. I will strive for this as well this year, but I may need to listen to some older feet.

Our lending library, meditation instruction, correspondence course and twice yearly newsletters support students in their self-development. The courage and determination of our students is inspiring! Where will this Walk-a-thon be held? It's everywhere! This is a international event with no set course or distance. Walkers, runners, and cyclists can participate whereever they happen to be throughout the weekend. Each volunteer gathers in sponsors and in this way a broad group of individuals sustains APO. Our goal this year is to raise $35,000. This will support over 1,200 people across the US - individuals who are serving time in prison and have taken up a path of inner development through the work of the APO. Thank you for your support, it makes a real difference! Self-control and awareness has taken the place of negativity. It helps the situation so I don't make impulse base decisions that have no substance. Others tell me I'm different and more humble.
