Easter 2026 : Raphael Through the Spheres
Description

Easter 2026 : Preparing for the Festival
You are invited to join us for two dynamic virtual presentations designed to support festival life through the insights of spiritual science at Easter 2026. We take inspiraton for this activity from the fact that in his Last Address, Rudolf Steiner made concerted effort to draw attention to the eternal individuality of the renaissance artist Raphael. Further, to have the largest-ever exhibit of Raphael's works in the US occur in this 1st new year of the next century of anthroposophy in the world, beginning during the Holy Week of Easter, presents as more than a terrific opportunity, it is an invitation.
The exhibit is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, from March 28 (Palm Sunday), through St. John's (June 28, 2026). Our presentations are online (details below).
Image of John from from Raphael's painting The Ecstacy of St Cecilia (c 1514-17), which is included in the MET exhibit.

The Human Form Divine ~ A Special Good Friday Gathering with Andrew Wolpert
GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2026

Continuing the Christmastide celebration of Raphael's work, for Easter we will contemplate the Death on Good Friday and what rose on Sunday. We will remember what Adam lost in the "Fall," how that was restored, and how the Second Adam offers us the way to the new potential of our unfinished human evolution.
Four images we will consider are:
The Crucifixion
The Sposalizio
The Disputa
The School of Athens
Andrew Wolpert is a scholar who has been lecturing and leading courses and seminars on anthroposophical themes internationally for many years.
