Greetings from the Eastern Region Holding Group!

"We should see significance in the fact that we receive the spiritual treasures of Anthroposophy together with those who are united with us as members of the Society. This feeling of being together and of receiving the Spiritual together, is not to be viewed lightly as having no meaning or value."  --Rudolf Steiner, The Life, Nature and Cultivation of Anthroposophy CW26 6 April 1924

Dear {{Preferred Name}},

Autumn Greetings!

On Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 pm. ET we hosted another video newsletter. We heard a wonderful presentation by Barbara Bittles from the Southeast Area on the care for the body of the departed soul.

Heide Ratliff from the Mid-Atlantic Area representing the Princeton Group was unable to attend. Her report follows below.

Alice Groh from the Northeast Area shared about the Anthroposophical Society in New Hampshire.

Report from Heide Ratliff from the Princeton Group:

The Princeton Group has various ways be involved in learning about Steiner’s work. We are grateful to Herbert Hagens who plans and communicates the regular Seasonal Readings for the Group, typically held in members and friends’ houses. Themes, times and the lectures are chosen with the feedback from members of our Princeton Group. Most of the attendees had an initial connection to Anthroposophy through the Princeton Waldorf School.

The Seasonal Readings and Celebrations have been part of the Princeton Group (Hagens Group) for three generations since the 1930’s. Ongoing reading group are also held since that time.  With the initiation of the Princeton Waldorf School more and more parents interested in the work of Steiner joint the Reading Groups. Our Friday Morning Reading Group meets regularly same day, same time since the mid-1980.  Presently more groups meet weekly, some on line and one again in person meetings. New members to the reading groups are always welcome and indeed new readers join us.

The First Class meets regularly though not monthly. We meet schedule to times possible for most of us desiring to attend. We have presently in Mr. Hagens as our only Class Holder. He encourages to reflect on possible changes to our First Class Meetings. However, the consensus is, that we are comfortable with the setup of the Class Meetings.

Not all of the rather loyal participants of the various events are members of the Anthroposophical Society. While I subtly refer to the value and need for more of us the connect with the society, I might have been too unconvincing to fully serve the Society and not only the immediate needs of our Readers.

Some members of the Princeton Group initiated contact with the Christian Community Devon and seasonal services of the Act of Consecration of the Human Being have been brought to the Princeton Area.

Through the generosity of the Devon Christian Community Congregation the Oberufer Shepherds’ Play will be performed in Princeton. The Play will be the main part of this year’s Christmas Meeting of the Princeton Group and will be held at the Princeton Waldorf School.

To many of us the spiritual connection made in the study groups have been profound, as has been the deepening of friendships developed through our ongoing work together.
